Infinitode 2 Wiki

Deals poison damage and adds a poisoning effect to enemies that deals periodic damage over a period of a few seconds. Has very low velocity shells.

Unique Characteristics[]

Venom has Poison Duration as its Unique Characteristic.

Poison Duration - The amount of time the poison lasts.

Leveling up the tower increases Poison Duration.

Poison Duration: 5 + 0.3/Tower Experience Level

Other Features:[]

Enemies hit by venom's projectile will take damage normally, in addition, adding poison effects on them. While poisoned, the enemy will take damage based off Venom's "Damage" stat every second lasting for "Poison Duration" seconds.

Venom will constantly search for enemies, prioritizing enemies that do not have the poisoning effect from that tower (applying the rules similar to modifier: search). It will still follow the targeting method as assigned, however. For example if targeting method is set to First and the first target it is poisoned, the second target that is closest to the base will be selected instead. Venom completely ignores searching Toxic, Heli, and Jet enemies since it won't deal any damage to them.

If Potent Poison is selected, Venom will attack the enemy until it reaches 3 stacks before constantly search for enemies.

If all enemies are poisoned from that Venom Tower within its "Attack Range", Venom will target normally just like other towers.

Poisoning effect from multiple towers stack, with each additional stack applying 75% of its damage and refreshes the duration. Such that the first stack applies 100% of its damage, then second stack applies 75% of its damage, then third stack applies 56.25% of its damage, and so on.

Fast enemies are also slowed by 3% for each Poisoning effect stack

Total Damage from a single Venom= (Damage + Damage * Poison Duration)

If a enemy is hit inside Freezing Tower's range, Its poison duration is multiplied by "Poison Prolongation" stat from Freezing Tower. Icy enemies are not affected by the prolongation since they are immune to Freezing Tower.

New Poison Duration = Venom's Original Poison Duration * Freezing's Poison Prolongation

Abilities:[]

Ability Description
Concentrated poison Poison damage x 1.18
Hard shells Projectile impact damage x 2.4
Potent poison Projectile speed x1.6, Hitting the same enemy increases the Poison debuff damage by 30%, stacks up to 3 times. Tower will try to apply max poisoning to an enemy before switching to the next target.
Poisonous cloud Enemies within 1.5 tiles take (Damage * Attack speed * 0.1) of poison damage per second (unlocks at 10th level)
Ultimate Buffs enemies with Chain Reaction for 10s which gives them 15% chance to spread their buffs in range of 2 tiles on death. Prolonging effects by 15% [Upgrades with the tower] (available at level 20)
Powerful PWR x1.1 (available at level 20)

- Poisonous Cloud - Emits a cloud of poison, constantly causing damage (Damage * Attack Speed * 0.1) to all enemies within 1 tile radius near tower. The poison from this effect disappears after leaving the cloud however.

-Hard shells - Doubles the impact damage from the projectile not the damage per second from poison effect

-Potent Poison - tower can apply several poisoned stacks by itself and target takes 30% more poison damage for each stack applied, this effect is capped at 3 stacks, while targeting, tower will attempt to apply full stacks for this ability before switching targets.

-Ultimate: The % chance scales with tower upgrade levels equal to 10% + 2.5%/tower upgrade level [Max of 35%]. When an enemy is slain and this ability activates, all enemies within 1.7 tiles will be transferred poison and burn damage from killed enemies and extend those durations by 15%.

Strategy[]

Venom applies damage over time to enemies, lasting for a long time especially as tower gains levels, PWR from experience levels, and researches. It also can clear a group of enemies on its own because Venom can switch targets to enemies that aren't poisoned after it poisons the enemy being able to kill enemies simultaneously through time.

However Venom's projectile (at early levels) are very slow but they do chase the enemy which can be crucial especially against Fast enemies since poison damage only happen upon collision not when its chasing its target. Getting Potent Poison solves this issue.

Venom synergizes with Freezing really well since Poison Duration will last longer which increases its total damage from one shot.

Venom can cover all enemies from swarms of Regular and Fast and tougher enemies of Strong and Armored dealing 100% and 150% of its damage respectively. Do note that Fast enemies are slowed down by 3% per poison stack, making Venom particularily good against Fast. It's main weaknesses are that it's unable to attack Toxic and flying (Heli and Jet) enemies and also extremely weak when enemies reach the base before the full poison damage gets applied. This make it a very powerful tower in early stages where enemies consist of Regular, Fast, and Strong only.

Venom generally pairs up with Flamethrower due to its ultimate and also covers the weakness Venom struggles (Fighter, Toxic, Icy) where Flamethrower does well against. It also pairs nicely with Tesla, which can deal with Helis and especially Jets that Venom can't target, while Venom can wear down Fast enemies to a crawl and obliterate the dielectric Armoured enemies that Tesla can't target. Both deal favourable damage to Strong enemies, both have explicit synergy with Freezing, and both deal Unfavourable damage to Toxic and Fighter.

Generally, multiple venom towers together can stack the damage over time especially with Concentrated Poison (stacking poison) which when the enemies get killed, with its ultimate, it can spread all the poison and burn to other enemies potentially performing a chain reaction of enemies dying. It also reduces the speed of Fast enemies for each stack.

Poisonous Cloud is very strong early on but falls off later on due to its low range and enemies moving faster and much more tougher later making this effect negligible.

Best tile placement: Damage and Power

Damage - The best tile with max research, or if the path is short. It increases both impact damage and damage over time from poison effect which double benefits venom and will kill enemies faster under the poison effect.

Power - Power tile is best used if there are little to no research spent on Venom (aka Daily Quest) or if the path is very long. This slightly boosts Damage but more importantly Poison Duration at early upgrade levels. This allows venom to deal a lot of damage early in the waves. However with enough research, freezing tower, and PWR from experience levels, it is better to get Damage tile in the long run since Damage tile will scale much more than poison duration and more importantly longer poison duration doesn't work well on shorter paths since enemies will reach the base before the poison finishes.

Experience - Though not as popular as the others, it is there to increase poison duration which improves its total damage. Used

Projectile Speed - (Mainly for daily quest), This fixes the poor projectile speed Venom has early on and some maps that reduces projectile speed as well. This allows the tower to hit different enemies. Do note that Venom only switch targets once the enemy is poisoned not when projectile is flying towards it.

Optimal 2 Abilities: Concentrated Poison/Potent Poison or Concentrated Poison/Hard Shells

Concentrated Poison and Hard Shells boosts venom's damage on impact and poison effect which makes Venom stronger and what venom needs. Hard shells improves its impact damage allows it to secure kills on enemies without relying on damage over time. This is much more useful when it is placed near the end of the map.

Potent Poison not only fixes its slow projectile speed issue (mainly in Daily Quest) against Fast but also stacks up poison damage. This allows venom to attack the same target multiple times. However, venom does want some attack speed so that it can switch to other targets to poison enemies as Venom Attack speed is pitiful at early levels. It should be paired with Concentrated Poison to further improve its poison damage.
