Toxic is an enemy type found in Infinitode 2, which heals over time when it has not been attacked recently.
Compared to most enemies introduced deep into the levels of Infinitode 2, Toxic is rather tame in terms of gimmicks, serving only itself and only under a specific set of circumstances. When a Toxic has not been damaged in the last three seconds, it can then start to heal at a rate of 3% per second.
Taking damage will reset this timer and stop the healing, so a gap in the defences can allow a group of Toxic enemies to heal up when continuing onto the exit of the map. When combined with Healers, this can be truly scary if one's defences are spread out too thin.
To make it more varied, Toxic has a very specific set of resistances and vulnerabilities towards towers, trending to resist against towers with long range such as the Sniper, Missile and Laser each having their damage halved, while granting close range towers like Splash and Flamethrower with a 50% damage bonus.
As suggested by its name, it is completely immune to Venom, though since Venom is often combined with other towers, this immunity is often negligible. More noticeably, it also makes it immune to all poison damage, which includes Smoke bomb ability and Minigun's Hot bullets with Foundation active.
