Toxic is an enemy type in Infinitode 2. It heals over time when it has not been attacked recently.
Strategy[]
Compared to other enemies introduced near the end of the campaign, Toxic is rather tame in terms of gimmicks, serving only itself under specific circumstances. When a Toxic has not been damaged in the last three seconds, it will heal 3% of its total health per second.
Taking damage will reset this timer and stop the healing, so a gap in the defences is dangerous when Toxic clusters approach. With Healers, this becomes nightmarish.
To make it more varied, Toxic has very specific resistances and vulnerabilities towards towers, trending to resist against towers with long range such as the
Sniper,
Missile, and
Laser each having their damage halved, while granting close-range towers like
Splash and
Flamethrower a 50% damage bonus.
As implied by its name, it is completely immune to
Venom, though since Venom is often combined with other towers, this immunity is often negligible. More noticeably, it is immune to all poison damage, which includes Smoke bomb and
Minigun's Hot bullets with Foundation active.
