Attacks enemies with discharges of electricity. Discharges jump over enemies nearby, forming a chain of lightning.
Tesla has "Lightning Damage" and "Lightning Length" as its Unique Characteristics.
Lightning Damage (%) - The percent damage that will be carried to next chained enemy. [Max: 95%]
Lightning Length - The max amount of length (in tiles) the lightning can travel/chain. If there is a decimal on Lightning Length, the decimal portion is the % chance it will bounce to an additional enemy. For example: 5.3 means that there is a 30% chance to have a Lightning Length of 6 and 70% of a Lightning Length of 5
Levelling up the tower increases Lightning Length whereas upgrading the tower with coins increases Lightning Damage.
Lightning Length: 5 + 0.3/Tower Experience Level
Tesla has no projectile speed as lightning hits targets instantly.
After an enemy is hit, the lightning will chain and deals ("Lightning Damage(%)" of the damage from the previous enemy) damage to the next enemy. As long as there is another enemy within 1 tile and the tower is not exceeding the "Lightning Length" limit for the original strike, chaining will continue until one of those conditions is not met.
Chained attacks can travel outside of Tesla's attack range.
To demonstrate chaining, if Lightning Damage is 50% and Tesla does 10 damage, its attack will deal 10 damage to first enemy, 5 damage to second enemy, 2.5 damage to the 3rd enemy and so on (before applying its multiplier on different enemy types). Minimum damage is 10% [20% with Increased Voltage ability] of tower's damage.
A enemy can only be hit once per lightning attack.
Freezing towers increase the lightning chain length while enemies are within their range.
Tesla towers will not attempt to rotate or damage Armored enemies. Lightning can bounce to Armored enemies but will deal no damage to them.
Tesla's first enemy hit has no "Lightning Length". This is possible if Tesla's range is higher than Lightning Length.
Tesla tower stats (not including research, power (PWR) tiles or experience levels)
|Upgrade Level||Range||Damage||Attack Speed||Rotation Speed||Lightning Damage||Upgrade Price||Cumulative Cost|
|High current||Damage x 1.22|
|Large batteries||Attack speed x 0.8, attack damage x 1.45|
|Increased voltage||Chain lightning length x 1.2, chain always deals at least 20% of towers damage|
|Ball lightning||When no enemies in range, accumulates and throws a lightning ball with damage of 350% of tower's DPS (unlocks at 10th level)|
|Ultimate||When a tower deals enough damage to kill 10 enemies, starts a Ball lightning ability with 20% damage which lasts for 10 seconds. (Available at Level 20)|
|Powerful||PWR x1.1 (Available at Level 20)|
Large batteries - Increases total DPS of the tower by x1.16 (0.8*1.45 = 1.16) - less than High Current.
Ball lightning - Tesla will channel over 5 seconds to create ball lightning if no enemies are in its range. The ball will try to path (up to 2 tiles) to the road and follow it towards the Enemy Portal. If the ball hits an enemy, it will generate a Tesla attack with the damage set to 350% of tower's DPS (Damage * Attack Speed * 3.5). It can hit Armored enemies but they take no damage from it.
If an enemy comes within Tesla's range, the channelling will be interrupted.
Tesla is a strong tower that is able to clear groups of enemies on its own, especially in the early game. Unlike Cannon, which attacks with an area of effect around the targeted enemy, Tesla attacks all nearby enemies up to its lightning length's range. With Tesla having no projectile speed, it can instantly attack enemies once it has turned to face them.
Tesla upgrades are cheaper compared to all other area of effect towers with the Lv9 -> 10 upgrade, costing only 2,500 coins making it a good early game tower to invest into.
It also gains experience very quickly on its own due to it being able to attack many enemies at once, making it the easiest tower to level. Enemies down the chain usually do not die from one attack which gives Tesla even more experience.
With research and PWR gained from tower levels, it is very easy to reach 95% Lightning Damage.
Always put Tesla near a Freezing Tower since you gain more lightning length and attack even more enemies.
Tesla's main strength is dealing damage to Strong enemies (in red). It can hit multiple at a time which other area of effect towers have trouble with. In addition to that, it can attack air enemies without any abilities.
Once this tower is unlocked, levels before 4.4 are much easier since you can replace Basic, Antiair, and Sniper with just Tesla towers, which can deal with all the same enemies in those tower's place.
Tesla's main weakness is its inability to attack Armored enemies. To solve this use Cannon, Missile, or Minigun as complements to get rid of Armored enemies. Blast is the best for this, but only with certain positioning. Venom towers can also be used to fill in Tesla's inability to hit Armored enemies.
Best tile placement: Damage and Attack Speed
Damage boosts Tesla's damage from both Large Batteries and High Current as Tesla gains experience levels.
Optimal 2 Abilities: High Current and Large Batteries
Large Batteries increases Tower DPS by 20% overall when taking the attack speed loss into account, which makes it less effective compared to High Current.
High Current is a simple 25% damage boost.
Increased Voltage extends the lightning length by 25% which means it can hit more enemies. Keep in mind the damage to enemies lowers per jump. Freezing also provides increased lightning length.
Ball Lightning only works if no enemies are in range, making it useless most of the time due to the long range of Tesla (especially when upgraded).

Advinas: You will definitely like the new tower, I call it Tesla.
Advinas: Tesla releases lightning strikes that jump onto nearby enemies, losing some of the damage with each jump.
Advinas: This tower copes well with dense groups of enemies, its discharges hit instantly and it easily copes with air enemies
Advinas: It is worth remembering that is has a slow turning speed and fares poorly against single targets.
