The player can use abilities to temporarily negatively affect enemies. Abilities can be discovered and improved through Research.
Before starting the game, should the player have at least one ability available, they will see the ability screen where players can purchase and equip abilities. Abilities are one-time use in which it must be purchased again once used. A player can only purchase a finite amount of that ability which can be increased through research.
Purchasing consecutive amount of the same research increases the cost.
Up to 6 different abilities can be equipped for each game.
Restarting a level part way through without first ending it, returns the spent uses of the abilities you used in that game.
To be able to use abilities in-game, it costs energy. Every 60 seconds (in-game time), the player will get 1 energy. Up to 10 energy can be held at once.
Abilities do not have any cooldown between uses but are constrainted by energy.
Max Damage Per Second[]
Damaging abilities do damage based on your current max damage per second (MDPS). This is the average amount of damage that all of your towers have inflicted in any 10 second period.

Fireball[]
- Unlocked as 2nd item in General Research Section
- Costs 2 energy per use
- Affects a range of 4 tiles around the selected spot on the map
- Affected enemies take 65% MDPS (upgradable) explosion damage and burn for 25% MDPS (upgradable) damage in 10s
- Killed enemies drop 100% of coins
Blizzard[]
- Unlocked as 3rd item in General Research Section
- Costs 2 energy per use
- Affects the whole map
- All enemies present on the map when the ability is used are frozen (iced) for 6s (upgradable)
- Enemies spawned while Blizzard is active are affected by 100% freezing effect
- Affected enemies take 150% damage
Windstorm[]
- Unlocked as 5th item in General Research Section
- Cost 3 energy per use
- Pushes enemies within 4 (5 with "MODIFIER: MINING SPEED" trophy) tiles range back towards the portal for 3s (upgradable)
- Delays the next wave by double of the ability's duration when used
Thunder[]
- Unlocked as 8th item in General Research Section
- Cost 1 energy per use
- Strikes 8 (upgradable) random enemies with electricity charges, each dealing 100% MDPS damage
- Killed enemies drop 200% of coins
Smoke bomb[]
- Unlocked as 11th item in General Research Section
- Cost 3 energy per use
- Affects a small range of 2 tiles around the selected spot on the map
- Affected enemies take 15% MDPS (upgradable) poison damage per second for 15s (upgradable)
- Killed enemies drop 100% of coins
Firestorm[]
- Unlocked as 12th item in General Research Section
- Cost 3 energy per use
- Affects the whole map
- All enemies burn for 10% MDPS (upgradable) fire damage per second for 5s (upgradable)
- Killed enemies drop 80% of coins
Magnet[]
- Unlocked as 14th item in General Research Section
- Cost 2 energy per use
- Makes all projectiles fly into the toughest enemy dealing 200% (upgradable) of their damage for 5s
- Killed enemies drop 150% of coins
Bullet wall[]
- Unlocked as 16th item in General Research Section
- Cost 2 energy per use
- Row of bullets, 2 per tile (upgradable), 75% MDPS (upgradable) damage, flies across the map from left to right
- Killed enemies drop 150% of coins
Ball lightning[]
- Unlocked as 17th item in General Research Section
- Cost 1 energy per use
- Hits 3 nearest enemies each 0.6s with 7.5% MDPS upgradable) damage per second (for 15s (upgradable)
- Killed enemies drop 100% of coins
LOIC[]
- Unlocked as 19th item in General Research Section
- Cost 3 energy per use
- Big laser crosses the map vertically dealing 40% MDPS (upgradable) damage per second for 5s (upgradable)
- Killed enemies drop 100% of coins
Nuke[]
- Unlocked as 20th item in General Research Section
- Cost 4 energy per use
- Huge explosion, deals 120% MDPS (upgradable) damage to every enemy on the map
- Killed enemies drop 80% of coins
Overload[]
- Unlocked as 21st item in General Research Section
- Cost 1 energy per use
- Increases effective HP and speed of enemies by 20% for 15s
- Gives 10% additional score while active
- Effect stacks if being called again while the last one is still active
- Grants 20% bonus mining speed to all Miners while this ability is active
