Multishot is a tower in Infinitode 2. It shoots an arc of non-seeking bullets that can penetrate ground and air enemies or debuff them with Bonus coins. It can also shoot a backwards bullet dealing much more damage, allowing it to attack enemies even while not facing them.

Projectile count is the number of bullets Multishot will shoot per attack. If this value is a decimal, that decimal is the chance Multishot will shoot an additional bullet. For example, if Projectile count is 5.6, Multishot will shoot 5 projectiles by default and has a 60% chance to fire a sixth. By default, Projectile count is 5 and increases by 0.14 each experience level.

Shooting angle is the size of Multishot's bullet arcs (in degrees). Shooting angle is the arc distance from the first bullet to the last. Other bullets in the shot are spaced evenly. For example, if Multishot has a Projectile count of 6 and a Shooting angle of 65°, the other 4 bullets will be spaced out by 13°. By default, Shooting angle is 65° and increases by 1° each experience level.

Abilities[]

LV Ability Description
4/7 Penetrating bullets Bullets penetrate first enemy, dealing 70% damage to next one
Buckshot Deals up to 20% more damage the closer the target is. Enemies drop 6% bonus coins if they die within 5 seconds, but bonus is halved if enemy is killed by this tower.
Compact weapons Arc of attack size ×0.75. Each hit on an enemy makes it receive 1% more damage from this tower, stacks up to 30 times
10 Counter attack Each enemy within 1 tile of the affected target increases damage by 2%
Upgrades with the tower
20 Comedy bullet Shoots one projectile backwards with 500% damage. If projectile does not hit any enemy, its damage is preserved for the next shot and stacks up to 15 times
Powerful PWR ×1.1

Buckshot causes bullets to deal up to 20% more damage the closer the target is. Bullets gives enemies they touch the Bonus coins debuff, but the effect is halved if the Multishot that applied the debuff kills those enemies.

Counter attack: Enemies near Multishot's target cause it to take more damage.

Comedy bullet's preserved damage is additive.

Strategy[]

Multishot shares some similarities with Splash such as non-seeking projectiles. It is an all-rounder tower that can be used as a primary tower, offensively, or as support for bonus coins. It also does well against faster enemies (besides Jet) as well as Icy and Light, which are often problematic for other towers. However, it struggles against slower enemies and can't target Strong (even though the projectiles are explicitly referred to as bullets, which Strong is weak to).

Multishot has great attack range and good attack speed that can clear clusters of enemies easier in a close range. It also does not need to face its target to attack. To get its full potential, place Multishot near the portal or use Freezing for Counter attack. When using Multishot as a primary damage source, building it on Damage or Attack speed platforms is a good idea. If Multishot is used for bonus coins alone, consider just saving the special effect tiles for towers with higher relevance. Avoid Projectile Speed platforms; while they allow bullets to travel farther, they also make them more inaccurate.

Shooting angle research trades the ability to affect multiple enemies with one arc to dealing more damage to single targets. Projectile Speed research provides a little bit of extra damage, but makes bullets faster, which is a detriment to their existence time, and thus it hinders their ability to deal any damage at all.

For abilities, use Buckshot and Penetrating bullets. While Compact weapons are nice, beating extra coins is not feasible.

ADVINAS Introduction[]

ADVINAS: Here comes the Multishot tower!
ADVINAS: Its projectiles fly in an arc and cause damage to the first enemy they hit.
ADVINAS: Extremely effective against Fast enemies and crowds and can help your Anti-aircraft towers a little.

Trivia[]

  • Multishot and Tesla are the only towers to share main characteristics (the bars shown in the tower preview before building the tower).
  • This is the first tower besides Antiair that can't attack a ground enemy.
    • Multishot's bullets can still touch, penetrate, and give the Bonus coins debuff to Strong.
  • This is one of two projectile-based towers that do not have seeking projectiles, the other being Splash.
    • Splash and Multishot are also the only two towers whose Projectile speed research also increases Damage.
  • This is one of two towers that has 100% effectiveness against Icy, the other being Gauss.
  • Before update 1.9, this was one of two towers that had an ability (Second axis) allowing it to attack air enemies, the other being Missile.
    • Multishot also had 50% effectiveness against Heli before update 1.9.
    • After update 1.9, this is one of two towers able to apply the Bonus coins debuff, the other being Laser.
  • After update 1.9, this is the only tower whose fifth ability is not named Ultimate.
  • Its trophy shows 6 barrels even though its Projectile count is 5 by default.
