Unique Characteristics[]
Flamethrower has Burning time as its Unique Characteristic.
Burning time: The amount of time (in seconds) the enemy is burned taking damage over time. If Cold Fire ability is obtained, it is instead the duration of the freezing effect.
Burning time: 3 + 0.2/Tower Experience Level seconds.
Levelling up the tower increases Burning Time.
Other Characteristics[]
Flamethrower does not have an attack speed since it will constantly spew flames (in a cone) whenever an enemy is within range. Enemies that are within the cone will take damage equal to its Damage value within 5 tics over 1 second. Applying burning effect which also deals the same damage every second. This means enemies (without the Cold fire ability) will take double damage as long as they are hit by the cone.
The burning effect will constantly be refreshed as long as the enemy is hit by Flamethrower's flames.
Enemies can only have one burn effect at a time, so hitting the same enemy with multiple flamethrowers doesn't multiply the burn damage but can still deal more damage from its flames.
Burning effect on enemies will reduceFreezing tower maximum slow by 33% and rate of slowing is reduced to 33% of its normal amount.
Flamethrower cannot target or damage Healer enemies or air enemies nor cannot be slowed from "Cold-Fire" ability.
Flamethrowers arc's size is based off attack Range stat. Higher attack range increases the size of the arc.
If the enemy dies from the burning effect, the tower that applied the effect gets the kill credit (and extra coin if placed on Bonus coins tile).
Burning effect stacks with Poisoning effect from Venom/Minigun.

Plasma ignition increases damage dealt from the flamethrowers area of effect by 40%. Does not increase damage over time from burning effect.
Napalm increases the duration of the burning effect by 40%. If Cold fire ability is used, it also adds 12% more freezing percentage (37% slowdown).
Cold Fire turns Flamethrower into a Freezing tower, which slows enemies by 25%, but removes the ability to apply burning effect. Also increases Damage by 25% to make up for the loss of the burning effect. If Cold fire slows enemies who are slowed by Freezing Tower already, the higher slow value will apply.
If this ability is applied, Burning time determines the duration of the freezing effect.
Overall, this upgrade greatly lowers Flamethrower's damage output, but applies a slow instead.
Direct Supply widens the cone arc as well as range. This effectively increases Flamethrower's area of effect by 54%.
Ultimate: The threshold scales with tower upgrade levels which is 1% + 0.3% per tower upgrade level. (At Level 10, it becomes <4% HP for instant kill). Only enemies hit by Flamethrower's area of effect will count and will always drop green papers at 100% chance, enemies dying to burning effect does not count.
Strategy[]
Flamethrower can be a damage tower or, with the Cold fire ability, a support tower.
Flamethrower deals much more damage from the burning effect than from direct fire.
As a damaging tower, it synergizes very poorly with Freezing Tower, as it cancels the freezing effect, making enemies move at normal speed.
It is recommended to be put near the portal, so all enemies will take a decent amount of damage due to the fire effect over the duration.
If used primarily for the freezing effect, it should not be upgraded and kept at upgrade level 0, because upgrading the tower does NOT increase its freezing effects. Experience Level, Napalm Ability and PWR, however, can lengthen the freezing duration.
In general, it thrives against Toxic, Icy, and Fighter and does decently against Regular, Fast, and Light, being able to deal great damage to many enemy types. With burning effect, Toxic enemies cannot activate their regeneration effects, due to the burning effect continuously damaging them and therefore delaying its regeneration effects.
Widely used against Light enemies since it is guaranteed to activate their resistance against fire and let all other towers be able to deal full damage.
Best tile placement: Damage
Damage tile is the best tile suitable for flamethrower since it boosts it boosts is damage and burn damage. Since it does not have attack speed stat, never place flamethrower on attack speed tile.
Power boosts the duration of burn effect. This is situational if the rest of the damage tile are filled with other tower or if its in a large map. However if used as a attacking tower, it should not be placed near the base since it might not cover the entire duration before the enemy reaches the base.
Range is a situational tile, Flamethrowers arc is increased with longer range and therefore being able to hit more enemies.
Optimal 2 Abilities: Plasma Ignition/Cold Fire (used most of the time), Plasma Ignition/Napalm (If no freezing tower is nearby), Cold Fire/Napalm (used if flamethrower is upgrade level 0 meant for slow)
Plasma Ignition boosts its damage by 25% making it a good ability for both flamethrower's role
Cold Fire: Boosts damage by 25% but no longer applies burning and instead freezing effect. This is useful if you have a Freezing Tower nearby or is used to slow enemies if Freezing Tower is not available from Daily Quest. Due to its damage boost, it increases its burst damage more in short term but losing its long term effect. If you want flamethrower to retain its burning effect on Flamethrower, do not get Cold Fire.
Its burn duration is now the freezing duration so its unique characteristics is still used.
Napalm: should be obtained if used for attacking tower or if flamethrower is left at level 0 with cold fire, since Plasma Ignition is useless. +5% slow is a nice boost since upgrading flamethrower does not boost the slow whereas 50% burn duration is nice since it will provide a longer burn providing more damage output.

Advinas: A flamethrower can cause continuous damage to a group of enemies of any density and set them on fire for a few more seconds. An indispensable weapon against a crowd of small enemies
Advinas: But remember - Freezing tower will freeze ignited enemies 3x slower and 33% less effective. However this can be fixed with the Cold Fire skill.
