The simplest and cheapest tower. The basic tower is single target, copes well with Regular enemies, but is not effective in the late game.
Unique Characteristics[]
Basic has Damage Multiplier as its unique characteristic. Damage Multiplier simply multiplies this tower's damage stat.
Damage Multiplier: 100% [+3.4%/Tower Experience Level] (without research)
For example, a level 20 Basic tower with max upgrades will deal 131 * 1.68 = 220.08 damage per shot.

Ability | Description |
---|---|
Double gun | Attack speed x1.3 |
Large caliber | Damage x1.35 |
Foundation | Rotation & projectile speed x1.5, projectiles have 20% chance to ricochet on another enemy |
Valuable experience | Equally shares 20% of own PWR with other neighbouring towers. When the tower is sold, all coins spent on it before L10 are returned (Unlocks at LVL10) |
Ultimate | Clones a random nearby tower 1 time(s) with 40% of target's upgrade level and transfers all experience gained to the clone(s) |
Powerful | PWR x1.1 |
Foundation - Ricochet effect can trigger multiple times in succession. For instance if the 2nd enemy is hit, it can hit a 3rd enemy at a 20% chance (4% chance to hit 3 enemies).
- The bouncing can attack the same enemy again as long as there is another enemy to bounce its projectile back off to.
- Each bounce reduces the projectile speed, if the projectile speed is low enough, the projectile will disappear regardless of whether or not the bounce proc triggers.
Valuable experience - Once learned, the sell price becomes 100% of the cost spent on upgrades and the tower itself. Upgrading the tower thereafter will only add 50% of the upgrade cost to the sell price. All nearby towers 1-tile from Basic (except Basic itself) gains power equal to 20% of Basic's PWR which is shared amongst other towards. If there are 4 towers near Basic tower, each tower gets 5% of Basic PWR as additional PWR.
Ultimate - Once learned, the Basic tower will search for another tower within a 1-tile distance of itself. If multiple towers are found, a random tower is selected and will copy itself to an empty platform within a 1-tile distance of the Basic tower.
- The cloned tower's upgrade level is set to 40% of the selected tower's upgrade level, and its XP is set to 100% of the Basic Tower's overflowed XP accumulated after reaching experience level 20.
- If the cloned tower has Starting Level (from cores), its experience level will be set before applying the transferred experience.
- Cloned towers cannot exceed their max upgrade/experience level. For example, if the cloned tower's max upgrade level is 3 and the selected tower is upgrade level 10, the cloned tower will be set to level 3.
- If no tower is nearby but there are nearby empty spaces, the Basic will clone itself.
- If there are no tiles available for the cloned tower to be placed on, nothing happens, wasting the Ultimate ability.
- This ability cannot clone modifiers, resources, or miners.
- The effect activates only upon learning; nothing happens while the Ultimate ability is active.
- [Endless] For Multiple cloning's, each instance will clone a random nearby tower separate from the previous clone. This includes towers that have been already cloned by Basic itself.
Strategy[]
The Basic is a very cheap tower which costs 48 coins to purchase. Upgrading it costs far less than most of the other towers, with L9→L10 only costing 1,770 coins.
With a total cost of 4,177 coins (excluding research), Basic is one of the cheapest towers to upgrade to Level 10 when combining with Upgrade Price discount researches. At the beginning of the game, a Basic can be upgraded to Level 4 or 5 before the first wave.
Basic excels against Regular enemies, dealing 150% damage to them, which is helpful since most early waves spawn Regular enemies. It also does well against Toxic enemies, although you probably wouldn't use Basics against them. It deals 100% damage to
Fast/
Light enemies but provides no support against Air enemies and deals less damage to slow enemies.
Basics, as the description says, don't scale well into later waves. Not only will enemies have more health, but more complex enemies which Basics can't deal with will spawn. Basics also have no crowd control.
Usually, once Basic experience level reaches 10. They can be used to sold giving them 100% of the coins spent on the Basic before experience level 10 allowing transitioning to other towers much without losing gold selling.
Though Basics can be used as a primary tower, they have extremely high attack speed and scales very well with experience levels due to damage multiplier amplifying its damage. This makes Basics a strong, inexpensive choice against bosses. Against a group of enemies, they have a chance to hit two enemies, which has some small capability of attacking multiple enemies at once. Valuable Experience in this matter becomes a supportive upgrade to give a minor boost of PWR to other towers nearby especially Basic starts gaining 1% PWR per level after level 10.
Basic's Ultimate allows you to create another tower for free with a few upgrade/experience levels effectively saving gold and experience levels early game. This allows the cloned tower to get a boosted headstart. Make sure you have a free space around your Basic Tower or the ultimate will be wasted.
If the cloned tower is a Basic, it can start a chain reaction, as a cloned Basic can be cloned again once it reaches XP level 20 and it gets exponentially faster the bigger the chain reaction since each Basic can gain passive experience per level which all gets transferred to the new tower. For best results, connect the original and cloned Basics with a Balance modifier to quickly level cloned Basics to XP level 20.
However once clone is learned, Basic can no longer level up on its own as it no longer earns experience for itself. This becomes crucial when max XP level is above 20.
If there are no spaces available to use the Ultimate and you need the modifiers/towers, Powerful is the better choice.
Best tile placement: Damage, Attack Speed, or Bonus Coins
Damage and attack speed tiles are the best. Both increase the damage per second.
Bonus Coins tiles are also a good choice since you get more coins on kills with Basic and you are able to keep all money spent on upgrading Basic thanks to the Valuable Experience ability.
Optimal 2 Abilities: Double Gun and Large Caliber or Double Gun and Foundation (if ricochet chance is researched)
Double Gun and Large Caliber are self explanatory. Large Caliber gives 25% more damage alongside the tower's damage multiplier, giving it an even greater damage boost. Double Gun boosts the tower's already great attack speed.
Foundation and Double Gun synergize with one another. With 20% more attack speed, Basics can trigger more Foundation ricochets, allowing them to weaken a second enemy (or more). This becomes much better with researches increasing the chance to 24.5% chance.
Generally the ultimate can be either. Cloning is a supportive role to clone towers nearby and give excess exp to its other towers whereas Powerful maximizes basic damage potential and used when there is no place to clone.
Endless Strategy[]
Compared to its normal counterpart
- Ricochet Chance researches goes up to 99.7% chance, allowing Basic to function almost like Tesla and can single-handedly wipe out all enemies other than Heli and Jet. Unlike Tesla, the projectile damage does not lose damage each bounce and can hit the same enemy multiple times. Not to mention that the MDPS will skyrocket because of its ability to deal massive crowd damage to enemies allowing spells to easily wipe enemies.
- The damage of Basic is significantly improved in addition to increase damage from research
- Higher maximum experience level allows its damage multiplier to be increased to (235% + 7.99% per level) allowing it to deal 14.33x its damage at Level 150
- With Large Caliber and Double Gun upgrades this can increase its DPS by 2.02x or 1.86x [Note that this requires Basic to get foundation so it must be one or the other]
- Both Large Caliber and Double Gun, both beneficial to improve Basic stats can be increased to research increasing their abilities to 2.025x / 1.86x respectively.
- With access to passive gold per minute and further reduced upgrade cost, it requires 2,279 gold [with 27 gold to build it] to fully build a basic tower. to level 10. Basic can be used at any map as a starting and a late-game tower complementing with Anti-Air against Heli and Jet. Pairing it with Blast or Crusher which locks them in place to allow its ricochet effect to deal its maximum damage.
- To make Basic be used on its full potential, it requires reliance on mining and MODIFIER Experience to build up experience levels later on to exponentially become stronger.
- As a supportive tower, cloning Ultimate can clone up to 8 towers which fills up the surroundings and their upgrade level to 140% of the original tower's level. Using at least a upgrade level tower, it can be used to produce 8 level 10 towers for free and all towers will receive the same amount of experience transferred from Basic itself. This can pretty much cover a 3x3 area of its own filled with cloned towers.
- A downside is that once learned (unless the Tower itself is maxed out on experience levels), the original Basic Tower no longer gains experience at all preventing itself from improving its damage. Usually, the experience sharing is not relevant as the experience gain is generally from mining with MODIFIER EXPERIENCE instead.
- Keep in mind that Cloning other towers with Basic does not require itself to be upgraded instead the targetted tower needs to be targetted at least level 8.
- Crusher since each additional crusher increases the cost for building and upgrading. By setting up multiple crushers in the beginning, the player can create mass production of crushers without spending extraneous amount of gold due to its scaling cost at the cost of not being able to build new crushers anymore due to the scaling cost.
- Gauss since the cost of upgrading them to level 10 is expensive. A level 8 gauss can produce 8 level 10 gauss. Though the others are useless if the cloned gauss are not next to mining but the
- Missile / Tesla are also decent choices since Missile have expensive upgrade cost but also can produce massive waves of missiles and Tesla can be used to produce Ball lightnings.
- Basic can share 29% of its PWR. Since Basic can level as much as experience level 150 and gets multiplied by Powerful ability, each basic can share at least 95% PWR to non-Basic tower significantly increasing their stats greatly at experience level 1. Note that it does not work is Basic itself.
- Optimal 2 Abilities: Foundation -> Large Caliber
- With access to increase ability upgrades from Large Caliber, it can go up to 2.025x damage boost doubling its damage alongside foundation 99.7% chance, Basic can easily shred early waves very easily. Unlike Double gun that gives 1.86x attack speed boost (at maximum level), the damage output is far stronger with Large Caliber.
- Generally the main focus for research for this tower tends to be (in priority)
- Ricochet Chance to Level 50 / Ricochet project speed to Level 2 (Reduces projectile speed loss per bounce)
- Damage Multiplier to Level 30 (unique characteristics) / Max experience level (Basic / Global) to Level 50 and 10
- Damage (Level 100) / Attack Speed (Level 50) / [Large Caliber (Level 20) or Double Gun (Level 20)]
- Upgrade Cost (Level 15) -> Price (Level 15)
- Starting PWR (Level 5) -> PWR share (Level 3) -> Tower power (Level 10) [optional but useful to share PWR to other towers or itself]
